I think someone should consider long-term mission because it is so rewarding. You get the chance to see people’s lives being changed from one day to the next. I have been an English teacher in South Korea now for 3 years and going back for my fourth. It is so exciting to see students walking down the aisle to pick up their English certificate knowing that I was a part of that. It is a good feeling. In teaching, God has taught me be patient. How to treat people from different parts of the world with respect and He has taught me how I can better myself and how I can help others when they are feeling discouraged or just need someone to talk to. I’m learning that time and patience will go a long ways. I have also learned that every day is an opportunity to make the world a better place through God’s help and guidance.
