Serving in Peru has impacted my life in ways I never could have imagined. The biggest lesson I’ve been learning is that we may not have control over the environment in which we are serving and will most certainly face conflict as we face insurmountable odds and impossible situations, but in this we can have hope. 2 Cor. 12:9 says “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” We are only accountable to the One who called us to serve. When we have no strength, God can be glorified as we conquer the odds, face the impossible, and share a peace and love that only comes when we allow the strength and love of our Savior to channel through us.
